In drow society, making a mistake can be fatal. Miscalculating any move can lead to doom. Faults are exploited and weakness is seen only as an invitation for an enemy to make a move.

Here we see the results of one of those miscalculations in judgment. This drowess had the audacity of plotting to kill the matron of her house, her own mother. This is not shocking, of course, being a drow society the expected and most expedient way to advance is by murder.

But in drow society the only true crime is getting caught. This budding priestess Made the mistake of babbling a little too much information about her plans after an evening of drinking a very fine wine. She was arrested post haste by her mother.

Now, her punishment is exacted. To be thrown into the rift below the city where the driders lurk is truly merciful as they will kill her quickly.

A drider is the unholy joining of a drow and a massive spider. A curse put upon a drow for some horrible high crime, driders are doomed to live as these spider to testify for eons of their own miscalculations in judgment.
